Terms of use

These are the simple rules for using this website. By using it, you agree to them.

Last updated 27 October 2026.

The short version

  • This site is free to read, and you are welcome to share links to it.
  • It gives general information. It is not advice on your case, and we are not your lawyer.
  • Please speak to your own lawyer, or to your District Legal Services Authority, about your case.
  • We work with the courts, never against them. Please do not use our name to pressure any court, judge, party or case.

Who runs this site

This site and our social media accounts are run by Insoumis, an independent, non-party movement. You can reach us at hello@insoumis.org.

General information, not advice

Everything on this site is general information to help you understand your options. It is not advice on your case. Reading it, or writing to us, does not make us your lawyer. Every case is different.

If you cannot afford a lawyer, your District Legal Services Authority gives free legal aid to people who qualify. Free advice by video is available at Tele-Law.

General information, not advice on your case. Related proceedings are pending and undecided. We name no one.

We try to be right, and we show our sources

Each door shows its source. Laws and court decisions can change, so a page may be out of date for a while. Please check the date on the page and open the source link. If you find a mistake, write to hello@insoumis.org. We correct mistakes openly.

In an emergency

This website is not an emergency service. If someone is in danger, call 112. If tonight is heavy, call Tele-MANAS on 14416. It is free and open 24 hours.

Using our words and pictures

You may share links to our pages freely. You may quote short parts of our pages if you say they come from Insoumis, link back to the page, and do not change the meaning. Please do not copy whole pages, and please do not present our words as your own.

The name Insoumis and our logo are marks we use (shown with ™). Please do not use them in a way that suggests we back you, your case or any group.

Our social media accounts

These terms and our house rules also apply to our posts and pages on Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube and LinkedIn. When you use those platforms, their own terms apply to you as well. We have reserved a name on Reddit, but we do not post there. Only the accounts listed on our About page speak for Insoumis. If you see another account using our name, please do not trust it, and please tell us.

Our house rules

Our comments, pages and community follow our house rules. They are the same for everybody. We may hide or remove a comment that breaks them, and we may block an account that keeps breaking them.

No pressure on any case

We do not take on cases, and we do not discuss any case. Please do not use our name, pages or posts to pressure a court, a judge, a party or a case. Please do not use this site to name, shame or identify anyone.

Writing to us

You can write to hello@insoumis.org. Please never send case papers or details of a case. Our privacy policy says how we treat what you send.

Links to other websites

We link to official websites and to our social media pages to help you. We do not control other websites, and we are not responsible for what they say or do.

What we are not responsible for

We provide this site in good faith, free of charge and as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from relying on this site instead of getting advice for your own case, or from the content of other websites. Nothing here takes away a right you have under the law that cannot be taken away.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the new terms.

Indian law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.

General information, not advice on your case. Please speak to your own lawyer, or to your District Legal Services Authority, about your case. How we treat your information is in our privacy policy.
