False evidence on oath

“They lied on oath.”

What can you do if someone lies on oath in a family case?

In short. You can apply to the court itself to act on false evidence. The court first asks whether the lie was deliberate and whether acting on it serves justice. A contradiction on its own is not perjury. That limit protects everybody.

What backs it up. The Supreme Court has said a court should act only where the falsehood was deliberate and acting serves justice. A contradiction alone is not perjury.Iqbal Singh Marwah v. Meenakshi Marwah (2005) 4 SCC 370. K.T.M.S. Mohd. v. Union of India, AIR 1992 SC 1831. Read the source
