The honest affidavit, for both sides

“She exaggerates. He hides.”

Must both sides file an Affidavit of Assets and Liabilities in a maintenance case?

In short. In every maintenance case both sides must file a sworn Affidavit of Assets and Liabilities. Ask for it, and file yours completely, with bank statements and tax records. If either side knowingly states something false in it, the court can act for perjury. Perjury means lying on purpose under oath. Only the court decides whether that happened.

General information, not advice on your case. Please speak to your own lawyer, or to your District Legal Services Authority, about your case.
